Old Friend 2

 Old Friend 2

Old trucks have always intrigued me. Don't know why?
I don't like driving them..... I just like painting them!
This is my second old truck to paint, the first being
a watercolor many years ago now.
Since I saw this one, delivered and not moved
(very much or far) for a while now,
I have been wanting to paint it. It is part of the
Toogoodoo 365 Series
because it can be found on a property
on the banks of Toogoodoo Creek! Fair game... right?
Old Friend 1 (click here to view) was fun and challenging,
with the light filtering through the trees and the old
glass on the truck. I waited for a day that I had time to paint this one with the same lighting.
I love the old still shiny black with the faded black, rust spots,
sun highlights.... and with the
great sun we had on this day, it helped to make the "black" truck shine in a sea of green in the yard.

Below are photos of my view and set up.

Happy Hour and Giving Thanks

Happy Hour
Pelicans sitting on the swim platform
of a boat waiting for the fishermen to
throw them a bite from the day's catch.
At the end of a fishing trip offshore with my husband and friends,
we returned to the dock at Shem Creek where the restaurants offer
a happy hour for the clientele after a day's work or fishing,
the pelicans also gathered for their day's end treat!

I would like to wish you all a very
Happy Thanksgiving
May you be with family, friends
or even someplace special by yourself,
this is a time to reflect and give thanks.
I have many things to be grateful for.... my family FIRST
....my ART and the pleasure it gives me and to my collectors
.... and for the many times ahead of us.
Like the pelicans waiting on the platform above,
may your days be filled with the things that give you pleasure
and may you be ready to catch the next thing thrown your way!
Happy Thanksgiving

Pear Season has arrived in my art studio!
The challenge...... paint a pear. Well, I did and did several. The pears just kept coming! The following ones are small, 4 x 4 and are all done in oils.
