Edisto Beach is very close to our home south of Charleston.

It is our favorite beach to walk at.

Quite often, we are the only ones there! Of course, in the summer... it s packed!

On this day, the clouds were big and boisterous with the threat of a summer shower. 

The tide was going out and the cloud reflections on the wet sand were magnificent.

What's the saying?

Red sky in the morning, sailer's warning

Red Sky at night, sailer's delight.

Well, it's not really a red sky but with the bright orangey sunset sky

it reminded me of that saying.

And anyway, wouldn't this be a 

"sailer's delight"?  

Just to be here?

Would be mine!

This is a short 2 minute plus video of my progress on this painting

including my trials, tribulations, mistakes and successes!

Sometimes, paintings just flow from my fingers.

Other times... well let's just say that 

it can be quite an effort!

New (new to me!) easel for my studio!

Ok now, isn't this cool?

We like to frequent estate sales every now and then.

Recently we went to one where the seller was an artist and look what I found!

This was such a deal and so cool to have in my studio. I walked in and saw it and knew it 

would be great for me. It is the kind with a crank to raise or lower the easel. 

And it's on wheels! 

It does have paint on it and is old but it has such great character

and I'm thrilled to have it!

This is my latest painting..... 

sometimes, it's hard to find my inspiration

but then, it happens

The moon is rising early in the evening these last few days so the light

is still good but yet there are some wonderful reflections. 

It is a beautiful thing to see a full moon rise over water. 

With this painting, the moon will always be full and rising over the creek!

Bruce has a new camera and he is having fun running out and capturing photos.

Moonrise Over the Creek was inspired from one his photos!

The morning is slightly foggy and gray,

the clouds are light and airy,

the sun is rising

and the colors of the morning take your breath away.

I finished the painting and went to bed, unhappy. So, this morning, I had to...
I had to fix it. I just didn't like the clouds. They weren't right in color or value.
So, above is the fixed one!
Below is the one I didn't like.

The one in the back, upper left is really giving his friend a little talking to and the one in the fore ground is taking it all in and happy to not be a part of the scolding.
