We found this little white wooden fishing boat on one of our trips

to St Maarten Island. The blue water reflected the colors of the boat 

beautifully and the water was so clear that the boat also had shadows in the shallow water.

I loved the red wood trim and interior of the boat. I think that's what drew me to it!

Had to paint it!

It’s spring in the lowcountry and the morning light is luminous! 

This is a small wooden boat I saw recently and it just captured me.
I painted it at anchor on a spring morning with the beautiful light.

Pelicans sitting on the swim platform 

of a boat waiting for the fishermen to

throw them a bite from the day's catch.

At the end of a fishing trip offshore with my husband and friends,

we returned to the dock at Shem Creek where the restaurants offer

a happy hour for the clientele after a day's work or fishing,

the pelicans also gathered for their day's end treat!

While sailing off of Miami the first of September with our son,

we sailed around this beautiful lighthouse.

Happens to be on a state park out on Biscayne Bay.

Lunch special today is oysters, minnows and just about any type of great fresh seafood.

Just so happens to be her favorite spot to reflect on her day!
